HSIIDC Claims 3900 Industrial Plots Allotment During Hooda’s Regime May Bring Rs 35000 Crore Investment

Chandigarh, August 14—Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation(HSIIDC) has claimed that its has allottted 3900 industrial plots or sheds during the present Congress government led by Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda and expecting an investment of over Rs 35,000 crore.

The claim to this effect was made through a offcial press relased issued by Haryana Public Relations Department that  a spokesman of the HSIIDC said that the major development works completed by the Corporation during the last about seven years included IMT Rohtak, Growth Centre Bawal, Industrial Estate Kundli, Karnal, Kutana and Narwana. 

Fuyrther, the major development works which are underway included IMT Faridabad, Industrial Estate Panipat, Bahadurgarh, Phase II Rai, extension work of Industrial Estate Karnal, Udyog Vihar Gurgaon Phase VII, IMT Rohtak Phase II, Industrial Estate Barhi Phase III, Industrial Estate Yamunanagar Phase II, Industrial Labour Housing at Kundli and IMT Manesar Phase II and Flatted Factories at Industrial Estate Rai.

He said that the State Government was also planning to set up a Cargo Airport at village Bhaini Bhairon, Sub Division Meham, district Rohtak. Airport Authority of India (AAI) had carried out preliminary site visit and pre-feasibility study and conveyed its in-principle consent to the project site. An application had been filed with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, for site clearance, which decided that in the first instance, the proposal be pursued with the Ministry of Defence for their comments, which has issued the requisite NOC to the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Now the case is being processed by Ministry of Civil Aviation.

In order to tap the opportunities likely to be generated by the freight corridor, which is being developed by Ministry of Railways between Delhi and Mumbai covering a length of 1483 kms, a band of 150 kilometres on both sides was being developed as Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) covering the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra, said the spokesman adding that the DMIC Sub-Region in Haryana covered about 29,362 square kilometres area, which accounts for about 66.4 per cent of the total area of the State.  The HSIIDC had been made nodal agency for the development of various initiatives under the DMIC Project in Haryana.

He said, "The DMIC Consultants have submitted pre-feasibility reports for the early bird projects – Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre and Integrated Multimodal Logistics Hub. These projects would be implemented through a joint venture between HSIIDC and DMIC Trust/DMICDC. Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) from Gurgaon to Bawal would be implemented through a SPV, to be floated jointly by Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC – agency of the State government) and DMIC Trust/DMICDC. Concept Master Plan of Manesar Bawal Investment Region (MBIR) has been finalized and the State Government has accorded Administrative Approval to the Concept Master Plan."

 " Initially  an area of 402 sq. km. would be taken up for development. The area available for development would be 265 sq. km. and the expected industrial output for planned industrial area within MBIR would be Rs. 2,50,000 crore in the year 2039. The projected employment generation is 1.6 million and population size is estimated at 3.19 million", he added.

He said, " HSIIDC has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with consortium of Japanese companies comprising Toshiba, Tokyo Gas & NEC for building ‘Smart Communities’ or ‘Eco Cities’ in the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) region; the country’s showpiece of futuristic developmental model. The consortium selected IMT Manesar for a pilot initiative in this regard and pre-feasibility studies are underway."

He said that HSIIDC had undertaken on pilot basis a project of developing Industrial housing units at IMT Manesar  to cater to the housing requirements of the workers. Now it was proposed to construct single dwelling units and dormitory at industrial estates at Kundli, Rai, Barhi, IMT Rohtak, Faridabad and Manesar, Phase-II, out of which work for construction of Industrial Labour Housing at Kundli was in progress. Construction work at IMT Manesar Phase-II had also commenced.

 After getting good results in terms of flatted factory sheds that were constructed and allotted at Sector-59, Faridabad, the Corporation had decided to set up similar facility at IMT Rohtak, Kundli, Rai, Barhi, Udyog Vihar Gurgaon (Ph-VI) and Bahadurgarh. The work for flatted factories at industrial estate Rai was in progress. Fatted factories would accommodate small and tiny units and was expected to check the growth of industry in non-conforming areas. It would also facilitate the industry to reduce the lead time in setting up of the project besides huge investment on land and building, he added.
