Chandigarh (I-Haryana News): Haryana is famous for his milk enriched
food, proverb for is famous for it. “Desa main Desa Haryana, Jahan
Dhoodh Dahi ka Khana” this proverb has started to fade away with
emergence of new assumption that own’s caste is at all costs even at
cost of Haryana.
The Business fraternity, national of international, which have invested hugely in Haryana because of its proximity to the National Capital has slowly feeling heat due to sharp division of Haryana on castes lines, especially its polity earlier and now its bureaucracy.
On August 4, 2012, a New Delhi based financial English daily,” Business Standard” has published a news article written by Aditi Phadnis, a seasoned journalist has written article on Haryana, describing the reasons behind early fall of Haryana specially in the eye of business fraternity. Following is the quote from her article “In caste terms, there are only two groups in Haryana: the Jats and the non-Jats. The Jats are divided between Hooda and Chautala. The non-Jats thought they had a leader in Bhajan Lal but are now virtually leaderless. If Hooda were to decide not to wear his caste-heart so prominently on his sleeve, it is possible that non-Jat castes might have viewed him as the best among the worst — the worst being Om Prakash Chautala, his cronies and his sons. Hooda’s son, Deepinder, is a courteous, well-spoken young man, in stark contrast to the Chautala cherubs.
Having a political base among the Jats is one thing; having a base among bureaucrats is quite another. Jat bureaucrats from anywhere in India have congregated in Haryana. So you have an IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre borrowed by Haryana simply because he is a Jat. Some officers in crucial positions (like important police and intelligence functions) have superannuated, but have been re-employed in the same post only because they speak the same caste language as the chief minister. In Gurgaon, for instance, caste has dictated police postings. The result? Not enough intelligence about the labour tensions building up in Manesar, delays and the final conflagration.
The universal opinion is that Haryana has slipped back several years. In a state that used to pride itself on good governance, this is tragic — especially when a small caste group is the only set of people to gain.” Source Business Standard
This is the first time, when especially a business reporting news media has openly blamed Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda that he openly and one sidedly supports his own caste that’s Jat.
In recently happened fire incident in Maruti Suzuki at Manesar by Its own labourers, which were mostly appointed on caste lines and on recommendations made by Haryana’s politicians and the bureaucrats as alleged by local people residing around the Maruti Suzuki India’s car plant.
The writer, Aditi Phadnis further written that the bureaucracy of the state has also been scattered in caste line so badly under present congress government regime headed by Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda during last seven year. And now it has reached at that end where administrative machinery in this agriculture state has become virtually defanged due to over casteism favoring especially the Jats.
Earlier to this, Haryana politics was badly affected by caste infection, which has divided the Haryanvi society into two blocks namely, Jats and Non Jats, but division line was not so sharp and evident, the caste based state bureaucracy has further worsened the situation because these are those who have to keep constant touch with general public.
The caste based bureaucracy is more dangerous than a caste based politics in any democratic setup, because there is option in the hands of people in every five year to get rid of those politicians, who harm their status as a citizen taking one sided favor to particular caste, which suit them politically, but this change over option is not available in case of ridden bureaucracy because they are to survive long with or with the wishes of the public to whom they have to rule over under the patronage of their political masters.
Last not the least, this trend started in Haryana if not stopped with iron hands than it can tremor the basics of Indian democracy, which stands on three pillars namely, the Legislative, the Judiciary and Executive.
Legislative part of the Indian democracy in general, and Haryana legislative in particular has already been infected by caste based politics and now bureaucracy falling in lines with their political bosses have further made rough road for Indian Democracy supporters to argue for its long life.
The division of Haryana on Jats and non Jats lines are not good for itself for this agrarian state, where its percentage of non-Jats people clearly overpowers the Jats in numbers, but all were living in perfect social fabric

I do agree with writer that castesim is only one element which can derail Indian democracy.
